I am from Shenzhen, China, and trained in Western conventional painting and drawing. I majored in Decorative Arts and Design and completed my B.F.A. degree at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, China. My undergraduate major emphasized various art practices, including fiber, metal, rock painting, lacquer, ceramics, clay, interior design, and public decorative art. Upon my graduation, I specialized in lacquer painting and drawing.

In 2009, I decided to study abroad in the United States and received my MA in art education from Adelphi University in 2012. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Art Education at the Pennsylvania State University. I serve as the secretary-general for International Affairs of the World Chinese Arts Education Association (WCAEA).

I have both college studio teaching and k-12 student teaching experiences in the United States and internationally. I received Harold F. Martin Graduate Assistant Outstanding Teaching Award in 2019 to recognize my teaching at Penn State University. In April 2021, I received Stuckeman Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship and created a project that focused on promoting international education in the arts. See here for more.
I provide educational workshops locally and globally, and I also work as a translator for keynote presenters and workshop instructors at multiple international conferences in China, South Korea, and Canada. All of my experiences of teaching, learning, researching, and translating in art education motivate me to continue working in the discourse on the internationalization of art education.
